Legendary Nigerian musician, Segun Bucknor has died at the age of 71. Late Segun was the father of popular OAP, Tosyn Bucknor and events manager, Funke Bucknor.


He was one of the pioneers of the early Nigerian music sound, learning the art from the legendary Roy Chicago of the highlife fame. In the 60’s and 70’s, he led a highlife/afrobeat band called the Hot Four and later renamed as Segun Bucknor and the Soul Assembly to make iconic records like Lord Give Me Soul and I’ll Love You Anyhow.

$1.1billion Fraud: British Judge questions Jonathan’s integrity, stops Etete from getting N17 billion A British Judge on Tuesday refused to release $85 million (N17 billion) to Malabu, a fraudulent company controlled by Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, Dan Etete. In refusing to release the money to Malabu, Justice Edis of the Southwark Crown Court declared that he was not sure the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan acted in Nigeria’s interest when it approved the transfer of the money to Malabu. “I cannot simply assume that the FGN which was in power in 2011 and subsequently until 2015 rigorously defended the public interest of the people of Nigeria in all respects,” the judge ruled. 23 Sep 2016 Tragedy struck at the Ogoja Market, LASU-Igando Road, Lagos State, after operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad shot dead an undergraduate of a polytechnic in Edo State, Eldanojie Joseph. The 20-year-old business administration student was said to be on a visit to his cousin, Friday Ojah, who lived on Alape Street, Iba Ojo, when he was hit by a stray bullet. It was learnt that the operatives were chasing a suspected Internet fraudster, identified as Badoo, who had parked his car and fled upon sighting the officers. The operatives were said to have started shooting sporadically. The Esan, Edo State indigene, who had reportedly gone out to buy a canned drink with his cousin, was hit by a stray bullet.
