The Laroka of Wanikin-Ife, Oba Kole Ojutalayo has said the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi [Ojaja II], has forgiven the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, who allegedly snubbed him at a public function in Lagos last Tuesday. Oba Ojutalayo, who is the Chairman of ‘40 New Dawn Oba’ in Ile Ife, said Oba Akiolu would be given a warm embrace anytime he visited the Ooni in his palace. Speaking in an interview with Punch in Osogbo on Friday, Oba Ojutalayo said Ooni is interested in the success of his unity project than any battle of supremacy, adding that Ogunwusi would not stop respecting Akiolu in spite of the incident. The Police in Osun state have reportedly arrested one Dr Alfred Aderibigbe, a medical assistant with a community health center in Ede, Osun State, for allegedly administering an injection overdose on Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died after suffering a heart attack on Sunday April 23rd. According to Sahara Reporters, late Senator Adeleke had been suffering from severe leg pain that required him to be injected with pain killers. Dr Aderibigbe who has acted as one of Adeleke's personal doctors, allegedly injected the deceased with an overdose of the medication that caused his death. Aderibigbe is being accused of practicising medicine illegally. The police arrested Aderibigbe yesterday and have detained him at the State Investigation Bureau of the Nigeria Police in Oshogbo where he is being interrogated. The Kano state Emirate Council says the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II spent N37 million on telephone calls since he ascended the throne three years ago. The Walin Kano and spokesperson of the emirate council, Mahe Bashir, disclosed this to newsmen while reacting to reports that the Emir has spent as much as N6 billion since he was enthroned in June 2014. According to Mahe, the monarch paid N37 million to Airtel to enable him make calls which most times are international. “It is true that the sum of N37,054,196.06 was paid to Airtel due to the fact that the emir has been identified with only one local mobile phone which he uses within and outside the country. Majority of the charges are that of roaming, which is normal. A suspected Internet fraudster, Abiodun Joseph, who impersonated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Facebook and duped two Nigerian ladies of various sums of money, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command. The bearded suspect was said to have been arrested on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Ilese, in the Ijebu North East Local Government Area. Joseph was paraded alongside three armed robbers and kidnappers at the state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Monday. The suspect had allegedly duped the ladies, who were based in the United States of America, to the tune of N600,000, which was paid through money transfer. While parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said Joseph had been using his Facebook and Whatsapp accounts to dupe unsuspecting members of the public.
