Update! Doctor who allegedly gave Senator Isiaka Adeleke injection overdose arrested by police
The Police in Osun state have reportedly arrested one Dr Alfred Aderibigbe, a medical assistant with a community health center in Ede, Osun State, for allegedly administering an injection overdose on Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died after suffering a heart attack on Sunday April 23rd.
According to Sahara Reporters, late Senator Adeleke had been suffering from severe leg pain that required him to be injected with pain killers.
Dr Aderibigbe who has acted as one of Adeleke's personal doctors, allegedly injected the deceased with an overdose of the medication that caused his death. Aderibigbe is being accused of practicising medicine illegally.
The police arrested Aderibigbe yesterday and have detained him at the State Investigation Bureau of the Nigeria Police in Oshogbo where he is being interrogated.
Preliminary report of an autopsy ordered by the Osun State government and Mr. Adeleke’s family indicated that the senator died of drug overdose. Aderibigbe reportedly gave him analgesics intravenously.
