Gov. Amosun’s Wife Adopts 9-Year-Old Boy Chained By Father, Prophet Francis Taiwo
What a transformation! from grass to grace. When the incident of this young boy came up, my spirit within me said “the boy is a destiny child, the Joseph of his family”. A glorious person must go through tedious tasks no doubt. Before one gets the crown, the cross must be carried. This of course might have led to the amiable woman of excellence, Olufunsho Amosu, wife of Ogun State Government, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to have adopted the boy.
According to the brief from NAN, Wife of the Ogun State governor, Olufunso Amosun, yesterday, adopted Korede Taiwo, a nine-year-old boy chained by his cleric father for allegedly stealing.
The governor’s wife made the announcement after visiting the boy at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State in company of some officials of the state government.
She expressed hope that the boy would grow to actualise his ambition of becoming a medical doctor.
Meanwhile, the attorney-general and commissioner for Justice, Ogun State, Seun Abimbola, said that he would take over the prosecution of the boy’s father, Francis Taiwo, who was apprehended following a manhunt launched by the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The suspect was the pastor in charge of Celestial Church of Christ (Key of Joy Parish) Ajibawo area in Atan Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state, where he allegedly chained his son.
Civil defence operatives and policemen attached to the Onipanu Division, Ota, however, rescued the boy, last week Friday after neighbours alerted security agents to the incident.
Upon the intervention of law enforcement agents, the father fled although the boy’s stepmother, Mrs. Kehinde Taiwo, was arrested by the police.
However, barely 48 hours after he escaped, spokesman for Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced Sunday that Korede’s father had been arrested.
