A man pretending to be a woman to obtain money from men caught in Uganda ...photo

Police officers have arrested a man in Uganda, Ivan Bebeto, after complaints about a certain woman who steals money from men under the pretence of being a commercial sex worker was made. According to local media reports, Bebeto, who calls himself Queen, was nabbed after it was revealed that he disguises himself to look like a woman and then steals money from his male victims. Gewas was described by his victims as a 'beautiful woman who wore short skirts and heavy makeup.' His notorious activities were reportedly carried out in East and Central Africa. Bebeto met his waterloo when a man who was interested in him, under the assumption that he was a woman, paid him for sexual favours.  Bebeto said he could not go to his house, claiming he felt more comfortable in his room, and thus asked the supposed customer to accompany him to a room where he kept his items.  It was that moment that the man suspected Babeto might be a criminal pretending to be a woman

This video has been making the rounds on social media. According to those in the know, the CCTV footage is from a Supermarket based in Abuja.  It shows a woman and her little children shoplifting. DPR discovers 87 filling stations operating without approval

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Monday said it had discovered 87 filling stations operating without its approval in the last six months. Its Director, Modecai Ladan, disclosed this in an interview with journalists on the sideline of the ongoing 17th biennial conference on Health, Safety and Environment organised by DPR. He said that the agency had already clamped down on the illegal filling stations. The DPR boss said that the agency was collaborating with other agencies and relevant stakeholders in nipping the problem in the bud. Obanikoro returns N134m to EFCC and returns N450m more

Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has returned N30m to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This brings the total he has returned to the EFCC to N134m. A source at EFCC said, “Obanikoro came on Monday and presented a draft of about N30m. Initially we did not want to collect it because it is small compared to what he is supposed to have given us. However, the legal department advised us to collect it.” Obanikoro had in October returned N104m to the commission. The ex-minister, who returned to Nigeria last month after spending about 15 months in the United States, was accused of receiving N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.). Obanikoro had said in his statement of oath at the EFCC that after receiving the money in 2014,  he gave N1.219bn to the then governorship candidate of the PDP in Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, while N1.3bn was given to the PDP candidate in Osun State, Senato

Father pleads guilty to sexually abusing and killing his 10-week-old daughter ..photo A monstrous 24-year-old Maryland father, Robert Davidson, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing and killing his 10-week-old daughter last year. Davidson appeared in court on Monday to answer the charges of sex abuse of a minor and first-degree child abuse resulting in death in connection to the June 2015 slaying of his daughter, Aleah Thompson.  The baby girl's mother, 22-year-old Lorena Thompson, pleaded guilty to neglect of a minor in July and was sentenced to five years of probation. Prosecutors said that Thompson had seen bruises on her daughter's body and suspected that her boyfriend had been physically abusing Aleah but did not do anything to protect the infant or alert the authorities. According to a press release from the Montgomery County Police Department, at 7.18pm on June 23, 2015, Robert Davidson called 911 to report that his daughter was unresponsive and not breathing.

Boris Commodore, a student of St.Stephen’s Presbyterian Senior Technical School in the eastern region of Ghana, met his untimely death after he was allegedly poisoned. The 17-year-old is reported to have returned from prep on Friday, November 25 and taken a beverage drink.  He supposedly later had garri (soaked) before complaining of severe stomach pains followed by vomiting of blood. Boris died before the school authorities could rush him to the Kibi Government Hospital. Speaking exclusively to 3News, the deceased brother who narrated the tragic scene said that Boris had been threatened with death by a schoolmate after they had a misunderstanding about a month ago. ‘He came home three weeks ago after a fracas with one of his mates in which he received a blow to his eye so he was given permission to come home. We have been communicating and everything has been okay but he had earlier complained to our father about the constant frowning by the student he had the fracas with

Usain Bolt denies engagement rumours

Usain Bolt had previously shared some photos that suggested he got engaged to his girlfriend. Speaking in an interview, the Jamaican sportsman said: ‘I’m not engaged. Me and my girlfriend went on a trip to Bora Bora. Somebody edited picture on my Snapchat and said "she said yes" with a ring. It was well done though.' Meet world’s oldest living person as she marks 117th birthday ...photo

Italy’s Emma Morano, the world’s oldest living person, marked her 117th birthday today, blowing out all the candles on her cake. Beaming at the attention, Morano took in the festivities for her milestone celebration sitting in an armchair in her one-room apartment in the northern town of Verbania, joined by her two elderly nieces, a pair of caregivers and her long-time physician. She received a greeting from Italy’s president, read by an official, wishing her “serenity and good healthy,” and appeared for a brief live broadcast on state-run television. A suspected fraudster, Ekperebuike Akadonye, has been arrested by the police for allegedly parading himself as the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on the Internet. The 29-year-old suspect, who was apprehended by the Inspector-General Special Intelligence Response Team, also allegedly defrauded a Saudi Arabia-based doctor, identified as Hassan Alkahallaf, to the tune of $10,000. Alkahallaf was said to have earlier been defrauded by Nigerians via the Internet on two occasions, while efforts to recover the funds had proved abortive. Punch  Metro gathered that Akadonpe got Alkahallaf into his trap when he introduced himself as the IG and promised to help the doctor recover his loses. He reportedly demanded $10,000 from Alkahallaf to facilitate the legal processes of the recovery and the victim was said to have paid the sum into his (Akadonpe’s) account in instalments.
